Wanderlust, 2011, acrylic on canvas, 60” x 72”
Last completed piece of 2011. I struggled with this painting for a number of months, painting, over-painting, leaving it alone for weeks at a time, painting again, and finally getting it to a place of resolution. A nice way to end off the year.

In the studio today (4.01.10). Painting in progress that I’m back to liking again. Still more to do, but I’m feeling better about it now than in the past few days.
Got the canvas hung on the wall in my studio this morning before I went to work. Having it hung and ready to paint on makes it less intimidating than when I unfolded it yesterday.
Big (6’5” x 11’4”) unstretched canvas on the floor of my studio-mate’s space. I didn’t have enough open floor space on my side to deal with it. Tomorrow, I get to start working on it. This is the start of a series of large pieces I’m planning on doing this year and maybe the only unstretched one, but I’ll see how it turns out once done. I may do more or just keep with stretched canvas for the others.
