Black Folk Don’t: Do Atheism

Finally :D  This was my suggestions months ago, I’ve been waiting for it.

OMG I don’t think you guys understand my excitement for this.

omfg this could only be better if it was two hours long.. they seriously just said everything i’ve been thinking my whole life..

THAT LAST STATEMENT WAS NOT FAIR. yeah. it was not fair at all. no. no.

“I think there’s a huge connector between God and community and being together and as a people. And for one to say that I don’t believe in God almost disconnects you from the culture, as if you lose your card. It’s being a part of the culture. and I think that’s very scary for many people.” 

To suggest that being black and not believing in Christ disallows you to from being a part of the black community is utter bullshit. So my contributions to black culture  are less significant because I don’t believe in Christ? Yo, something’s not right.

Seriously?! I wish someone would try to tell me that my “card” was revoked because I didn’t believe in God, Christ, etc… Really? When I can still be subject to racism from the world at large and still have my life invalidated because of the color of my skin and another black person, who would be subject to the same stereotypes from others is going to tell me that I’m not black enough because I don’t believe as they do? or that my contributions in general aren’t good enough? Give me a f$%king break…
